Amazon Web Services (AWS) stood out as a cloud platform all over the world, with over 200 fully-featured services available from data centers all around the world.
Since its invention, AWS is used by millions of clients, including the fastest-growing startups, largest corporations, and top government agencies, to reduce costs, improve agility, and accelerate innovation.
The popularity of this cloud platform has already increased excessively. After Amazon invented Amazon Web Services, many other top brands have introduced their cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform, IBM, and Microsoft. However, no other cloud platform was able to defeat the AWS. Amazon Web Service is the master of the cloud computing industry and it will be so for at least a few more years. Become a certified AWS professional with AWS certification.
Here are the reasons why AWS was able to rule the cloud computing war.
AWS Regions Are Located All Over The World
The main reason why AWS managed to spread all over the world is that it has numerous regions across the globe. The cloud infrastructure provided by AWS is beyond the best. Till now, AWS is offering 84 availability zones in around 26 regions geographically. You can checkout latest global infrastructure here.
Even though we have many other cloud service providers, they definitely do not provide these many regions. Moreover, the availability regions offered by AWS are connected by low latency, high output, and extremely reliable networking. Furthermore, AWS is expanding its regions in various locations such as Canada, Australia, Israel, New Zealand, India, UAW, Switzerland, and Spain.
Which means we can see AWS making it’s presence globally.
New Innovations
When it comes to allowing users to create things innovatively, AWS wins the race. By using the latest technologies provided by AWS, users can create effective solutions to their cloud issues.
Besides, AWS comes up with new inventions in their services in order to provide the best user experience to their customers. It allows users to create whole technological advances that you may employ to revolutionize your company.
In 2014, AWS revolutionized serverless computation with the debut of AWS Lambda, which allows developers to run code without having to set up or manage servers.
And it provides widest rage of serverless services to support the serverless ecosystem. It also made machine learning easy by dcreating a service named Amazon SageMaker, a highly scalable machine learning service that allows even novice programmers and scientists to utilize Machine Learning.
Widest Community
AWS has the widest and most vibrant community worldwide. AWS has millions of active customers and ten thousand partners from various parts of the world. Every possible use case is being executed on AWS by customers from practically every industry and of every size, including startups, businesses, and public sector organizations.
Thousands of systems integrators that specialize in AWS services and tens of thousands of independent software vendors (ISVs) who modify their technology to run on AWS make up the AWS Partner Network (APN). Their having a huge community base has given AWS the greatest advantage of being the king of cloud domain.
Secure Platform
AWS is designed to be the most adaptable and secure cloud computing platform on the market today. As AWS says, “our core infrastructure was designed to meet the security needs of the army, financial companies, and other high-profile enterprises“.
With a variety of security, accountability, and administration services and capabilities, this is supported by a comprehensive range of cloud security tools. AWS provides 90 security requirements and regulatory certificates, and all 117 AWS services that contain client data have encryption capabilities.
Price Drops
By its regular price cuts, AWS is the leading company in the cloud business. “AWS has dropped pricing more than fifty times since its introduction in 2006,” as per MarketWatch, and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey analyst Kunal Madhukar said he “will not be shocked if additional cost cuts were due soon, given Microsoft’s Azure’s recent cost drops.”
Due to the obvious substantial expenditures, it helps to develop its network, AWS has maintained its cloud market dominance since its introduction in 2006. The more AWS expands its infrastructure, the more economies it achieves, allowing it to offer clients reduced costs and a complete suite of enterprise-size capabilities. And do you recall the virtuous cycle? AWS’s growing customer base allows more funding to be devoted to network growth, resulting in price reductions. These price reductions result in more competitive service and the cycle goes on.
By All Means
AWS is the leader of the cloud computing war considering all the points we have discussed above. In every aspect of cloud computing, AWS tops the list. However, other competitors of AWS such as Microsoft, Google, IBM and others are also growing fast.
In a few years, any of these can compete with AWS if they continue to provide great services. However, AWS is the master for now. Amazon’s quick initiative in its early years, price drops, improvements in infrastructure, constant innovations, secure platforms and fast and easily scalable solutions still make the company the leader in cloud computing.
